Visit Muiderslot Castle and discover one of the oldest and best-preserved castles in the Netherlands. Marvel at this 700-year-old site surrounded by water and gardens. The castle was built in 1285 and there are many stories to tell about its long and turbulent history.

See Muiderslot Castle, which has been a national museum since 1878. Before that, the castle was completely run down and was even on the verge of being demolished. Fortunately, that never happened and in 1878 the castle became one of the first national museums in the Netherlands.

Dating back to 1885, Grand Café Museum 1e Klas restaurant is located on platform 2B and occupies the space that previously housed the First Class passenger lounges. The restaurant space was designed by Dutch architect Pierre Cuypers, whose work includes the iconic Rijksmuseum and the entire Amsterdam Central Station.

Admire the architecture of the restaurant's interior, which has been carefully and elegantly renovated to give you the glamorous ambiance of yesteryear as you savour some of the restaurant's delicious offerings.
